“Knife and Gouge Sharpening” with Alec Pritchard
Alec will be demonstrating how to sharpen knives and gouges. An essential part of woodcarving. Bring your dull knives with you.
Seminar #2 – Saturday June 6 from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Room 203
“Airbrushing” with Jim Smith
An overview of three types of air brushes including the Paasche AB, their use, care, and maintenance. There will be a demonstration on a carving followed by a Q & A.

“Designing and Detailing Realistic Feather Patterns” with Pat Godin
In this two hour session Pat Godin will talk about the concepts he uses in developing interesting feather patterns on his carved birds. Some of the discussion will be about the anatomy of feathers and the different types of feathers in birds. Also, important aspects of composing feather patterns will be shown. Pat will demonstrate his methods of shaping and detailing feathers including texturing and burning techniques.

“Introduction to Marquetry” with Cathy Lago and John Ness
Learn basic marquetry techniques to create a three-piece picture using contrasting veneers. Tools and materials will be supplied.
