“Introduction to The World of Colour! – Beginner Lesson on Acrylic Paint Mixing and Layering + Colour Theory”
In this seminar designed for beginners, you will get an introduction to colour mixing and layering with acrylic paints. Explore how pigments work and learn how to use primary colours to create secondary and tertiary colours, Find out what “mother colour” is, And learn how to use washes to build depth with your colours. This seminar is run by Paige Bengert who is a Honours Graduate from Sheridan College with an Advanced Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts.
Come prepared with your creativity, ready to have fun and learn about colour! No experience needed!
Provided will be the following: 1 Paintbrush, Acrylic paints ( Cadmium red, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium white, Burnt Sienna, Mars Black), Cup of water, Mixing pallet/plate, Mixed media paper, 1 Basswood textured surface, Instruction worksheet.
Please bring an old rag to clean your brush with.
Optional to bring: your own preferred Brushes, extra mixed media paper ,your own textured surface to paint on, your preferred paints, Apron”

“Burnt to Perfection: Wood Burning Techniques for Charcuterie Boards using the Walnut Hollow VersaTool” by Heather Martin
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of wood burning using the Walnut Hollow VersaTool. Focusing on creating unique textures and designs, you’ll explore various tips and techniques to enhance your charcuterie board. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class will guide you through the process of adding personalized, beautiful touches to your wooden creations. By the end, you’ll have a custom charcuterie board that showcases your new wood burning abilities.

Seminar #3 – Sunday June 8 12:00pm to 2:30pm – Room 203
Carving by John Novak
We will be carving an Owl Pendant in butternut. This seminar is open to carvers of any skill level including beginners. We will be using a single knife for the carving. Butternut blank, paracord and eyelet screw are provided. John has some knives (10) that can be loaned for the seminar.

Bird Watching tour by local Ornithologist David Gascoignle. David does tours through various countries in Central-merica and is one of our bird judges. The tour is approximately 1 hour long
